Jersey Schools Catering

Capsicum Contract Catering now provides schools catering for nine Jersey schools and colleges. We also provide catering in three nurseries in the Island of Jersey. In delivering our service we are guided by principles of ensuring children and students receive a balanced, healthy diet. We work alongside the States of Jersey in delivering the ‘Healthy Eating for Schools’ campaign. This initiative is designed to ensure Jersey school children have healthy options to choose from at school.

We are also fully committed to supplying sustainable food to our schools and nurseries. We are passionate about ensuring we and our suppliers adhere to best practice in all links in the food chain. This means that from sourcing to preparation to serving we look for the best ingredients we can find to deliver a good value offering. We also have a strict Food Safety programme in place and training for all our team in Food Safety and Allergen control.   By sourcing locally wherever possible to limit the food miles incurred, the distance food travels from sea or field to plate is kept to a minimum. Some of the best natural products and foods are readily available on Jersey’s doorstep and we are proud to advertise this to the Children, Students and Teachers we serve. We also are working in partnership with local suppliers to provide great food produced in Jersey where ever possible.

We offer a state-of-the-art cashless payment system called WisePay, used by hundreds of schools in the United Kingdom.  This enables parents to ensure school dinner money is spent on healthy food and avoids children having to carry money to school.
